How you can help
There are heaps of ways you can make a positive contribution to the Thames environment.
1. Check your backyard
We know it’s hard work, but our backyards are often the biggest culprits of invasive weeds like climbing asparagus, privet, woolly nightshade, and pests like rats and ferrets. Exotic garden species can often jump fence to the bush surrounds so should be removed.
We have a list of invasive weeds and pests to look out for and a heap of best practice tips to control and remove them altogether.
We’re collecting information about tree privet on private land. Whether you have one tree or a forest, please tell us about it by registering your privet.
2. Volunteer at a working bee
Volunteer at a monthly working bee. Come and make the change you want to see in the world, pick a few weeds, and meet some great like-minded people. Come to one of our working bees, or join one run by our weedy friends who would love an extra hand too!

3. Donate to TEA
Making a donation to the Thames Environmental Alliance Charitable Trust means every dollar goes towards scaling up our efforts to tackle the invasive weed and pest problem – one bite sized bit at a time.
For all the philanthropists out there, we’d welcome your support with open arms. Get in contact with us today.
4. Join TEA
Join the Thames Environmental Alliance. Be part of the crew on the mailing list to hear the updates and wins we’re making.
