30th November 2025 Karaka Trailhead Working Bee
10am – 12 noon, Sunday 30th November

Come and help us at the Karaka Track restoration site. We’ll continue cleaning the site of weeds and rubbish, lopping off small privet, before letting the remaining weed seeds germinate. It’s not possible to kill seeds, so we need to give them a chance to sprout before we get them! In 2026 we’ll be back to get rid of that summer growth, and in late autumn/winter begin to plant the site with natives.
You’ll need:
- work gloves
- loppers if you have them
- strong boots
- a mug if you’d like a cuppa
Getting there:
The Karaka Trail is up Karaka St, next to Thames Hospital. There’s limited parking beside the substation, so you may need to park on the roadside.
